Green Glue helped me design a room where I could listen to music at reasonably high volumes without disturbing someone sleeping above. I can also crank the music to ear-bleeding levels without disturbing anyone else in the rest of the house!" - Josh

The Green Glue Company is pleased to present data for steel stud walls of nominally identical construction with and without Green Glue. The data was collected at Orfield Laboratories, an independent NVLAP accredited lab in Minneapolis, MN, in 2005 and 2006.

Test Description - Steel stud walls were tested with and without Green Glue.

Green Glue has proven effective with steel studs. The
assemblies we’ve tested were 25 gauge steel studs,
24” OC, 3.5” of fiberglass insulation and double
drywall on both sides.

Summary:

As with wood stud walls, Green Glue has proven its worth in more flexible steel stud constructions. Green Glue’s outstanding fire performance also allows steel stud wall constructed for fire purposes to maintain their fire rating, while exhibiting notably improved sound isolation.
